About this role
At Biogen, the Data Management and Analytics (DMA) department plays a pivotal role in the compiling, processing, and utilization of data to provide valuable insights that guide decision-making. The Associate Director (AD), Corporate Data Management and Analytics Lead is a key member of our centralized DMA IT organization, which is part of the EAUS IT organization and will be responsible for understanding and delivering the data management and analytics services to our Corporate functions. The Associate Director works closely with the stakeholders, including Functional IT Teams, Build Team, Solution Providers, IT Quality, Project Managers, and business users, to define and execute activities related to the delivery of Data Management and Analytics solutions. You will act as the main liaison for the Corporate IT teams, ensuring a thorough understanding of their data needs. You will incorporate these requirements into a prioritized plan, create detailed requirement stories, and guide the development team in achieving the desired outcomes.

What you’ll do

  • Lead stakeholder engagement for Data Analytics solutions
  • Analyze & understand the business requirements
  • Identify data sources, acquire data, and prepare data for analysis as per business requirements
  • Provide strategy, best practices and standards for data analytics solutions
  • Lead Design / Build / Test / Document Data Management and Analytics Solutions
  • Provide support for testing phases ( SIT, VAL, UAT) and deployment

Who You Are
You are passionate about using data management and analytics to deliver critical business values, understands the Corporate functions systems & processes, and communicates excellence to the delivery team to solve these needs.  Additionally, you are motivated to assist improving the overall direction of DMA processes and technologies above and beyond specific responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science or related experience) required; Master's Degree preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience in delivering data management, data warehousing, analytics, and business intelligence services
  • Ability to work directly and collaboratively with cross-functional teams including senior leaders across the functional IT & business
  • Experience with a variety of data management and ETL software packages (e.g. Informatica, Oracle, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Experience in complex data integration projects with strong data analysis skills
  • Strong experience with Agile methodology

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SAFe, Informatica IICS, Snowflake, Power BI
  • Experience in Life Sciences industry
  • Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) business processes or solutions and data governance and data quality methodologies
