The Sr. Consultant, Social Media will drive awareness and affinity for CarMax through the brand's social platforms. This role works closely with internal and agency partners to assist in the execution of CarMax's brand social program. The Sr. Consultant, Social Media will support social leads and cross-functional work streams to execute initiatives in organic social content, influencer management, paid social media, and social campaign creative. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and isn't afraid to take initiative with varying levels of direction. A deep understanding of and experience within the social media industry is preferred.

What you will do - Essential Responsibilities

  • Manages content scheduling, QA and tagging across multiple platforms from various content sources.
  • Executes all daily social media community management in partnership with social care and agency teams to build a community of fans around the CarMax brand.
  • Identifies user-generated content and manages clearance and usage rights.
  • Assists with social media content development in partnership with in-house and agency creative teams to develop social-first assets.
  • Assists with development, planning, and implementation of paid social flighting and optimization following paid social strategy and learning agendas.
  • Assists with the execution of the brand influencer program.
  • Assists with social media reporting in partnership with internal and agency partners, elevating findings to channel leaders.
  • Monitors and proactively identifies social opportunities for the brand and elevates to the appropriate team.

Purpose of the role

This will be a key role within the CarMax brand social media team and requires a collaborative and confident social media expert as we work to grow our social presence. The purpose of this role is to execute upon CarMax brand social strategies, helping to bring them to life for consumers. The ideal candidate must be curious and passionate about social media, is a natural problem solver who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be results focused, delivering and expecting accuracy with great attention to detail.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in areas directly relevant to the responsibilities of the position.
  • Has a demonstrated passion for and understanding of social media marketing for brands.
  • Has working knowledge of managing social media platforms for business use, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, X, and YouTube
  • Experience with social media management and reporting platforms (i.e., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Sprinklr, etc.).
  • Familiarity with the foundations of paid social.
  • Effectively builds strong relationships internally and externally.
  • 4-year undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business, Advertising, or related field.
