Job Description:

The Director of Sales - Costco is responsible for leading and directing profitable growth for Costco by fully leveraging all capabilities, assets, and functions within the organization. Proactively pursue all business opportunities by building and maintaining strong buyer relationships.

What are we looking for?

  • Lead customer contact for Costco
    • Responsible for growing profit and volume of our brand (Tasty Bite) to achieve targets
    • Understand customer priorities and manage day to day business with each Costco Region
    • Identify and develop customer initiatives to drive growth for Tasty Bite and satisfy customer needs
    • Develop annual and quarterly plans to accomplish key objectives with each region
    • Develop relationships with key customer personnel across all functions and at all levels to develop and execute programs at a strategic and tactical level
    • Incorporate new item introductions into annual plan and coordinate launches with each region
    • Develop, present, implement, track, and review Tasty Bite business
  • Develop and implement business plans and goals/initiatives

  • Monitor retail standards in the club channel tracking the customer, category, and competitive performance
  • Identify distribution opportunities
  • Work with category management to analyze, recap and disseminate research findings
  • Analyze competitive data to help formulate strategy for sales growth
  • Delivery of customer insights-based recommendations that drive; customer acceptance of Tasty Bite new items, increase in distribution of existing Tasty Bite items, agreement to carry Tasty Bite recommended category assortment and achievement of volume/profit/share goals.
    • Engage with internal Tasty Bite functional experts to facilitate customer opportunities
    • Work with trade marketing, Sales leadership to develop sales plans and identify emerging opportunities
    • Promotional review/ PPA
    • Deduction management
    • Complete forecasting process with demand planning team
    • Complete margin/cost and pricing analysis
  • Exceptional ongoing communication to manger and internal stakeholders
    • Cross-functional, systematic review of account plans and performance. Tailoring of company assets to meet/exceed account requirements and growth targets. Monitor account/customer performance issues and highlight issues as they occur.
    • Promotional opportunities
    • New Distribution Objectives
    • Brand & Category direction
    • Outstanding Issues
    • Participate in assigned projects involving industry organizations, supply chain initiatives, etc.
    • Perform any duties assigned by manager

  • Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree required
    • At least 5-10 years of CPG sales/account management experience calling directly on Club and Alt Channels. Must have Costco experience
    • Proven experience building strong relationships with Club accounts
    • Proven capability to develop strategic vision for driving growth with customers
    • Broker management experience
    • Experience understanding customer issues and developing solutions to respond to their specific needs
    • Experience analyzing syndicated data and shopper insights to develop customer specific recommendations
    • Listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
    • Travel will be required for customer meetings, market visits, trade shows
