WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Our Demand Creation strategy is a powerful catalyst for Nike's growth. The Global Brand Marketing teams build the foundation needed to reliably connect with our consumers more directly and with greater speed and agility.

We're looking for a Lead, Brand Marketing, SG&A Accounting with strong analytical, business partnership, and communication skills who will manage initiatives to improve global accounting policies, processes, and controls that drive and deliver heightened shareholder value. This Lead professional will work cross-functionally as a trusted business partner, to inform business decisions and financial plans on technical accounting, financial reporting, financial risks, process, and control requirements.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

If this is you, you will own the global accounting policy, financial statement balances, disclosures, and process governance and controls related to advertising, product collaborations, and influencers. You will perform technical accounting reviews of significant contracts, and advise geography partners on the global application of technical accounting policies to ensure financial statement accuracy through a sustainable, effective, and efficient control environment. Additionally, you will participate in the review of monthly, quarterly, and annual operating results and financial sign-off with business leadership.

A typical day/week will consist of regular engagement with business partners to understand brand marketing initiatives so that you can apply that knowledge in preparation for period-end close activities, including reviewing journal entries, reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, and analytic reviews. You will also be responsible for driving continuous improvement through collaboration with finance and business partners to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes and financial reporting.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

Reporting directly to the Global SG&A Accounting Director, the Lead, Brand Marketing, SG&A Accounting will partner closely with the Brand Marketing Accounting team and external stakeholders to successfully execute critical monthly and quarterly close activities. Additionally, this person will work closely with Brand Marketing finance and operations team members, Procurement, and Global Source-to-Pay. Other partners include Technical Accounting, Finance Governance & Controls (FG&C), as well as our Sports Marketing and Royalties & Athlete Compensation teams.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent strongly preferred
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience in public accounting, corporate accounting technical accounting or operational excellence, within a large, complex, multinational corporation and/or Big 4 Public Accounting firm
  • Proficiency with SAP ERP, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint systems is a plus
  • Proven ability to develop high-profile, influential, and collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and layers, preferably within a large complex corporation
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and managing multiple, competing priorities and requests, while maintaining high standards for quality and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations
  • Strong enthusiasm and passion for the NIKE brand
